Master Marine

Wayne was a pleasure to work with. I placed a deposit over the phone from several states away on a clearance Pathfinder Boat. Once I arrived they were very informative and attentive to a couple of items that I requested be addressed prior to me leaving the dealership that day. Based on the discount that they gave I fully expected the boat to be bare bones. It wasn't, it had a matching spare, batteries (2 cranking), and all the accessories that normally are provided with a new pathfinder. Sure made the 11 hour drive worthwhile. Took my boat in for a re power. Wayne was my salesman and the process could not have been easier. He was very knowledgeable and answered any questions I had. Work was completed in a timely fashion and was very professionally done. I would definitely recommend doing business not only with Master Marine but Wayne as well. I couldn’t be happier with the above and beyond service at Master marine. They performed a Suzuki re-power and did an outstanding job. Very competitive pricing, attention to detail on the rigging. Also, fixed a leaking hydraulic seal on the steering and added a light to the motor at parts cost. Even better was the smooth service Woody provided. He is one of the best in the business at sales and going out of his way with his old school approach keeping me updated throughout the whole process. I’ve dealt with many different boat dealers and sales reps over the years and Woody has been one of the tops. Will be doing business there for years to come.

I was in the unfortunate position of having to re-power my boat after blowing its existing used motor. Master marine had an extensive inventory of suzuki Big Block motors when others did not. They were able to re-power the boat in a relatively short period of time. They not only fitted my boat with a badass outboard, they cleaned out the fuel system, they checked and replaced the seals on the steering system and hooked up a new set of guages and controls at a pice that was very competitive. The quality of the installation is like nothing I've ever seen. They took a lot of pride in their work.

Really disappointed in the service I have received from master marine. I am more bummed because I really like Chuck. I know he tries, but it is easy to see they have him stretched as a service writer and probably their only top notch mechanic. Chuck has gone the extra mile, but often forgets items because he should be a mechanic. I had an ongoing issue with my boat. I took it in 3 times for 2 issues. The first one happened to be bad gas. Chuck got that fixed up. However, on all three visits, I told him. My boat is getting warmer than usual on heavy load. Being a shade tree mechanic watch those gauges like a hawk. So I never let the boat get very warm. They said all three times they put in the tank and nothing. I SPECIFICALLY asked when does the thermostat need to changed. A few weeks ago, we hit the lake and try to pull some tubers . . the boat starts getting warm. Most shops are backed up this time of year for weeks and did not want to wait to get the boat back. So I decided to pull the impeller, check the hoses for clogging and finally the thermostat housing. As you can see in the attached picture. After all the years of dropping off my boat at master marine, not one time have they even CHECKED the thermostat. This is insane . . . my boat has an 8.2L big block. It would cost over $10K to rebuild an engine because of $20 part. To avoid any issues, I replace the entire thermostat housing and installed a new hoses and impeller. I can’t use these guys anymore. Hopefully they can get a good service writer or maybe if that is all Rick did he would not be so stretched. Posted pics of housing on yelp . .

I contacted Master Marine as I was looking to sell my boat. Although, Master Marine was unable to purchase from me at the time, I had a chance to speak to Wayne. He was able to not only break down the process of selling my boat, but provided me with a lot of great information that helped me as I am a first time boat owner/seller. Wayne was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and always very nice. Overall, Wayne provided me with great customer service and a great experience with Master Marine. I would recommend anyone looking for a boat to speak to Wayne, he is definitely the best!
